WINDSURFING TUITION

The beginners windsurfing teaching programme has been developed according to the VDWS (International School Association for Watersports) standards and guidelines. The lessons provide a proven step-by-step approach to learn windsurfing safely and quickly. The windsurf school is a recognized VDWS (Internationaler Schulverband für Wassersport) center.

FULL BEGINNER COURSE

NEWBIES & BEGINNERS WINDSURFING COURSE

The course is designed to help you take your first steps into a new sport and hopefully fuel an addiction of a lifetime. You will receive all the theory and practice necessary to get you up and sailing on your own. You will go from being a beginner to and intermedaite windsurfer during this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who want an introduction to windsurfing and who have never tried it before. No Experience is required but you need to be able to swim 50 meters in open water.

DURATION

10 Hours

GOAL

In no time at all you will be on the water sailing alongside your instructor in the safety of the bay. You will quickly learn correct sailing stance, grip, board control and basic steering. You will learn how to tack and how to stay upwind.

WINDSURFING RENTAL CARD

5 HOURS OF WINDSURFING EQUIPMENT RENTAL

As part of your 1 week windsurfing holiday in Sal, you will be issued with a 5 hour rental card. This means you have the flexibility to hire a board and sail for any 5 hours during your stay. The windsurfing center is open from 9 am to 5:30 pm daily.

The Cape Verde Windsurfing Academy is a recognized VDWS (Internationaler Schulverband für Wassersport) center. This German windsurfing accreditation ensures that you are taught by qualified instructors using proven teaching techniques & that all the courses follow the latest safety guidelines for accredited schools.

WINDSURFING INSTRUCTORS

The Windsurfing academy owner is a VDWS instructor and he has trained all the instructors here. The instructors have years of experience as windsurfers & kitesurf instructors and are accustomed to coaching at different levels. They have all the necessary skills & experience to help newbies & beginners to progress to a level where they can become independant windsurfers. The instructors are multi-lingual & speak English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.

WINDSURFING SAFETY

Your safety is our prime concern, the Cape Verde Windsurf Center offer a low student-to-teacher ratio and the have a rescue vehicle (Zodiac) at their disposal at all times. The center has the latest safety systems as well as helmets and life vests.
