windsurfing HOLIDAYS IN COSTA TEGUISE, LANZAROTE
NIGHTLIFE AND OTHER KICKS
ARRECIFE & THE RESORTS OF PUERTO DEL CARMEN & COSTA TEGUISE
If you fancy a change from the village then most of the nightlife can be found in the main tourist resorts. In Puerto Del Carmen the area along the Avenida de las Playas or the city's Old Town is where it's at. In Costa Tequise head for the Avenida de las Islas Canarias.
One of the Zoco crew's favourite hangouts is the 'Poco Loco' just off Playa Las Cucharas and near the windsurf Centre. The Poco Loco is is open everyday from 9 till 8 and they serve good food: fresh salads, fajitas, falafels, ztatiki, quiche... food from all over the world. And as if that was enough to wet your appetite, they show windsurf videos and fotos every night between 6 and 7pm. The terrace also has a good view of the reef and this is the place to hang out after a windsurf session and meet with locals and other windsurfers from around the world.

If you want to sample the local culture check out the traditional bodegas and tapas bars in the smaller towns and villages or take in the nightlife hotspots in the island's capital Arrecife. The best bars, discos and night clubs are along the calle Jose Antonio in the centre of town.
Bars are open all day, seven days a week until late. The nightclubs and music venues usually open around 11 pm and will stay open until the last die hard partygoer stumbles out to face the new day. Most do not charge an entrance fee.
