The J-Bay Backpackers is set atop the dunes in Jeffreys Bay with a 270 degree view of beach, sea and surf.
Wooden decks and hammocks overlook the bay and provide wonderful, aloe-framed views and the perfect setting to soak up the sun, do some dolphin and whale watching or watch the full moon rising. There are excellent surf spots on our doorstep so as the swell pulls in, you'll hear the crash of the surf from your bed. All rooms have a sea view and all doubles are en-suite.
There is also a fully equipped, self-catering kitchen plus an awesome outdoor restaurant serving breakfasts, lunches and dinners. We have a fully licensed bar with daily happy hour, weekly theme nights, and crazy acquaintance making punch parties.
Guests have use of free bicycles, beach toys such as stunt kites, snorkelling gear, body boards and beach bats etc.; surfboard and wetsuit rentals, surf video library, Internet facilities, secure off street parking and free pick ups meeting the intercity bus services in Humansdorp.
Small and personal the atmosphere here is unique - a blend of young backpackers, dedicated surfers and older travelers. Each one adds an ingredient that culminates in an easy, homely, exciting and enticing place to be.

THE ROOMS
The main house holds the dorm rooms, communal facilities, restaurant and bar. The en suite private rooms are located at the foot of the dune with an uninterrupted panorama of the Indian Ocean. Each room opens onto a balcony that allows for the sound of the waves and the splish splash of dolphins. With a back gate leading right onto the beach, a beach that stretches as far as the eye can see in both directions.

EL NIÑO HOUSE***
El Niño is located right behind Supertubes and this accommodation is perfect for families and small groups of surfers. It offers 2 air-conditioned bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and has 1 double and 4 single beds and a seaview from the main bedroom. There is a nice open plan kitchen and lounge with DS TV downstairs, a wooden terrace and garden with bbq facilities. The main bedroom with its terrace has a beautiful seaview!
EL NIÑO APARTMENT**
El Niño apartment (adjoining the house) is located only 20 meters from the beach. Small, but ideal for a couple or 2 friends. The apartment has a double room with a shower, kitchenette, braai/BBQ facilities and wooden patio. There is a sleeper couch suitable for a child.
