ZOCO SURFING ADVENTURES

All the surfing instructors at the Praia da Luz Surf School are qualified FPS Federação Portuguesa de Surf or BSA British Surfing Association professionals. These accreditations ensures that the surf lessons are run by qualified surf instructors using proven teaching techniques and that all the courses follow the latest safety guidelines for accredited surf schools. The school has been running for 10 years now and the staff are qualified to teach all levels of surfers.

EQUIPMENT & SAFETY

All the equipment used is specifically designed for beginners and intermediates with safety being the key factor. Beginners use boards specifically designed for both stability and safety. Intermediates will use boards which provide a good blend of stability, manouverability and performance. The instructors will select a board suitable for your size, weight and ability.

The mountain biking staff are qualified in the UK and their qualifications are recognised by the BCF British Cycling Federation which is the national governing body for cycle racing for Great Britain.

The BCF, in turn, is a member of the UCI Union Cycliste Internationale (International Cycling Union), the world governing body for the sport of cycling and the UEC Union Européenne de Cyclisme (the European Cycling Union).

The instructors are level 2 mias trained.
MIAS accreditaion is from the ABC awarding body consortium and has national accreditation with the ABCC Association British Cycle Coaches and the CTC Cyclists Touring Club and is also recognised by AALA Adventure Activities Licensing Authority, an independent licensing authority for outdoor activity centers.

EQUIPMENT & SAFETY

Again, all the equipment used is specifically designed for this terrain with safety being the key factor. The bikes all have disk brakes and good suspension.

The diving school was founded in 1996 and is the oldest and finest in Lagos. The instructors are PADI Professional Association of Diving Professionals, IAHD International Association for Handicapped Divers & CMAS Confédération Mondiale des Activités Subaquatiques (World Underwater Federation) qualified and know the Algarve waters better than anyone else.

The diving school is the only one to also have it's own 50m long training pool on site for instruction. On-site there are classrooms with TV, video, computers, DVD as well as a host of equipment. There are changing rooms, showers & toilets, compressor room, restaurant and poolside bar as well as the workshop.

EQUIPMENT & SAFETY

Beginners will be taken through everything they need to know including safety awareness with a PADi qualified instructor. If you are a qualified diver (you will need to show your license) you will be taken separately on a dive to see one of the local wrecks. Please note many PADI courses are available separately.
