LAGOS SURF CAMP - SURFING ACCOMMODATION

The 'Surf House' is located in a quiet residential area near Funchal within 5 minutes drive of Praia da Luz and Lagos. The beautiful beach of Meia Praia is only 10 minutes drive and the unspoilt west coast beaches ideal for surfing 20 mins.

The term 'Surf House' cannot really be used to describe your accommodation. This surf school accommodation is more like something from a TV travel guide. The luxury villa has a huge sitting room decorated with Gaudi-esque tiling, big comfortable Thai bamboo couches and a pool table. The rooms are big, airy and comfortable, with en suite bathrooms (the ‘honeymoon’ suite has a bed the size of a football pitch). Other rooms, in Bali-style wooden chalets, adorned with wall hangings, mosquito nets and futons, are dotted through the old olive groves in the garden, complete with pool.

Guests from all over the globe including Australia, France, Germany, Scotland, Sweden, South Africa and Ireland have stayed at the villa and it's not just for the surfing. The delicious home-cooked meals served at the by the hosts have meant that the word has spread. After an exhausting day in the surf you can enjoy... barbecues, succulent prawns, famous Portuguese piri piri chicken and a host of other culinary delights.

The villa is surrounded by lush gardens featuring a swimming pool, sauna and a football/volleyball pitch. The villa contains three double bedrooms, one of which is also available as a special 'Honeymoon Suite'. In addition, there is a three bed apartment and two Thai-style wooden cabins set amongst the trees.

THE ROOMS

All rooms are of the highest standard and have their own bathrooms. The luxurious villa has a large living-room with a TV, video, stereo and pool table to ensure a relaxing environment for everybody after a hard day at the beach!

The Surf Experience is a family affair and staying at the Villa is a perfect chance to participate experience Portuguese surf-culture at every level. From the moment you arrive the team will be working hard on and off the beach to insure your surf experience will be one to remember! The owners of the villa, and your hosts, will surprise you with their lust for life, local knowledge, surf stories and their (now world famous) skills in the kitchen.
