All the instructors and guides are well respected in the water and the local surfing community. All have qualified as lifeguards or equivalent in their countries are multi-lingual and speak a good level of English. Using a combination of instructors and guides means that our Peniche & Baleal Surf Camps are suited for all levels of surfers from complete beginners to reef gods.
SURFING INSTRUCTORS
The instructors that run the Surf Lessons and Surf Clinics are skilled watermen who have many years experience surfing and coaching at different levels. They have all the necessary skills and experience to help newbies and beginner surfers to progress to a level where they can become independant surfers. Each day your instructor will take you surfing at a break that suits your surfing ability.
SURF GUIDES
Flexibility is the key, if you are a competant surfer our knowledgeable guides will always make a huge effort to get you to the best waves on the day. The surf guides are local respected surfers who know the Peniche and Baleal coast intimately, each day your surf guide will drive you to a break that matches your surfing ability. The guides are there to make your trip run as smoothly as possible and will always try to be helpful and informative.
The surf guides‘ services include:
• Finding the best available surf in the area.
• Take care of all the driving, so you can sit back and relax.
• Surfing Lessons/Instruction for beginners and intermediates.
• Advising you on activities in the area, tips on bars, restaurants etc.
Meet the team
Ricardo: a top ranking Portuguese surfer who is also a qualified surf instructor, he has been surfing Peniche for 15 years and has an intimate knowledge of the area. This top ranking surfers competition experience means he has a keen eye for detail, very important when coaching intermediate and advanced surfers. He knows exactly what is necessary for a surfer to improve their surfing.
António: an advanced Surf ing instructor with 26 years of surfing experience. He is a professional surfboard shaper and qualified lifeguard.
Alex: Considered to be one of the best surfers around Baleal, he has been surfing for 13 years and teaching for 6. He is a local boy that can show you all the tricks and give you some insider tips about the area.
Fernando: He's responsible for everything, any problems, questions or suggestions Fernando is your man. He's been surfing for the last 10 years, and chose Peniche as his adopted home town for the consistency and quality of the waves, and its good vibe.
