When you're not surfing there are a lot of things to do. As surfers we often forget that there are other things to do in most of the destinations we travel to. When the surf is flat or blown out we mope around feeling a great injustice has been done.
Portugal has some of the most beautiful white sandy beaches in Europe, as well as dramatic landscapes, miles of beautiful ocean and an enviable climate. All of which is perfect for the many varied activities we offer, including yoga, diving, surf stretching, biking, golf and winery visits. All of these activities can be pre-booked.
You could simply relax at one of the street cafés or if you're not too surfed out, you can spend some time discovering the beaches, have a go at bodyboarding or skimboarding or play a game of beach-volley ball. Those with a little more energy may want to checkout windsurfing, fishing, sailing, jet-skiing or water-skiing.

BEACHES
The beautiful coast of Ericeira is cut out by more than a dozen beaches. Five of them are located within the village limits and include Praia do Sul, Praia D'ilhas, Praia do Norte, Praia São Sebastião and Praia Matadouro.
The village beach of Praia do Sul, is a popular beach, located at the south end of the village, next to the Hotel do Turismo. It is also called the Whale Beach. (In 1872 an enormous whale was stranded here). From the here the coastal promenade leads around the Santa Marta Park. The place where the ocean swell meets the steep cliffs is called Furnas. The caves here were formerly used as lobster deposits. Right in the center of the village steps lead down to Praia D'ilhas, next to the small harbor of Ericeira. Before the construction of the harbor wall small fishing boats put out to sea from here. The harbor of Ericeira is a full of small colourful fishing boats with typical and traditional design and painting. Next to the harbor Praia do Norte extends up to the Moita cliffs. Praia São Sebastião located at the north end of the village, is named after São Sebastião Chapel, which overlooks the beach. It's a small, quiet beach. Walking along the coast you'll finally reach Praia Matadouro, a small beach located at the very north end of Ericeira, near the camp site.

NIGHTLIFE
The nightlife at weekends is suprisingly good for such a small town. This is due, in part, to the fact that Ericeira is popular with the people living in Lisbon as a weekend retreat. YOGA
Yoga classes are run from our surf villa. It is located in beautiful valleys with stunning sunrises and sunsets. Unwind, relax and focus your mind on this effective and highly enjoyable practise.
Yoga enables you to build strength, flexibility, balance, lung capacity and mental focus. All key factors for taking your surfing to the next level.

DIVING
We have our own experienced and fully qualified diving instructor Tiago, who has been diving all over the world and rates Portugal as having some of the very best diving conditions.
Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced diver we can provide all the equipment and safety training for exciting and stunning dive experiences to remember. The dive courses on offer are as follows:
• discover scuba – classes in swimming pool and the ocean
• open water
- 5 classes 20 mins each in swimming pool
- 4 classes 20 mins each in the ocean
- 5 sections of theory
• advanced open water – 5 adventure dives, navigation and one deep dive
• rescue diver
• dive master – number 1 leadership
• emergency first response and child care

GOLF
Portugal is well renowned for golf, boasting championship courses throughout the country and regularly holding pro tour events. We are well positioned between two major golfing courses, Cascais and Santa Cruz.
We can manage the booking of green fees, lessons and get you on the course in no time. We also work closely with Provision Golf, a golf academy run by two of the UK’s leading golf instructors Nick Clemens and Konrad Broholski. The academy runs a structured and fun approach to learning golf. They also teach advanced level golf, helping you to maintain consistency and accuracy throughout your game.
Provision Golf will be running academies from the surf villa later in the year and we will keep you posted on developments.

MOUNTAIN (ATB) BIKING
We have a range of mountain bikes available to make the most of the natural beauty of the valleys and coastal paths of Portugal.
If you fancy a change from surfing, this is a perfect option to unwind and take a relaxing ride along the coast and who knows, you may even find your very own secret spot! Bikes can be hired by pre-booking.

SURF STRETCHING
We appreciate the importance of warming up properly before you hit the surf, so we offer classes with a professional trainer who has worked with major sports companies, training athletes and enabling them to achieve maximum performance.
We offer effective warm up and cool down programmes which you can take away with you and practise where ever you are. These are very useful to keep your surfing consistent and polished.

WINERY VISITS
Portugal is famous for its excellent wines and our winery visits are a great opportunity to see how and where the wine is produced.
The wine we serve at the villa is produced by Vinha de Goje, a family who have been making wine since the early 19th century. The vineyards are located in the beautiful valleys of Dao in the northern regions of Portugal. The scenery and landscapes are spectacular with some of the most amazing sunsets.
Our fully-catered accommodation is based around the vineyard in a renovated farm which looks very traditional from the outside, yet is modern and comfortable inside. You can relax and enjoy all the benefits of the homemade food and drink on offer and soak up the sun in our pool. Each day you can visit the vineyard where we will show the process of how the wines are made, and you can walk through the beautiful fields to see the grapes and get an understanding of each type. Finally you will get to taste all of the great wines on offer from Vinha de Goje!
