This trip is an off-the-beaten-track surfing expedition to one of the best waves in Baja, during prime swell season. The point is way out there on a beautiful stretch of remote, desert coast. The trip is ideal for both beginners (never caught a wave? Four hours of daily instruction will fix that!) and advanced surfers (like reeling reef barrels? You're in the right place!) The wind blows offshore all day, we cook gourmet camp food, and the desert provides the perfect setting for a "surf desert soul cleansing". The waves peel along right in front of the camp which is a portable eco-friendly setup designed to make minimal impact on the beautiful beach which will be your temporary home. Add to this the adventurous flavor of Mexico, and it's the perfect recipe for an unforgettable surf trip.

SURF CAMP OPTIONS

LEARN 2 SURF - Absolute Beginner or Brush Up On Your Skills

The ultimate surf camp adventure, and we do mean camp! For beginner surfers Abreojos offers a variety of gentle sand bottom sections as well as an empty beach break. The Beginner Package includes surf equipment and four hours of daily surf instruction. Safety is our highest priority, so we maintain a ratio of at least one CPR and First Aid Certified instructor to every four students.

CORE SURFER - Reeling, Barrelling Rights for Experienced Surfers

The surf at Punta Abreojos is amazing; a series of right point breaks with punchy bowls, reeling barrels and rippable walls. The point pulls in the summer south swells which are generally between waist high to a few feet overhead, with some days in the double overhead range. The point is located on the west coast of Baja but actually faces east, with waves wrapping in 180 degrees, and the predominant winds blowing offshore all day!

Day 2: Depart Guerrero Negro for Punta Abreojos
Day 3-8: Punta Abreojos: Surfing Surfing Surfing.
Day 9: Depart Punta Abreojos for El Rosario.
Day 10: Depart El Rosario for San Diego.

All trips begin and end in San Diego and include transportation in a luxury van. The 12 hour journey from San Diego to Punta Abreojos is covered in one and a half days and takes you through harsh and mesmerizing desert terrain, which makes your arrival at the warm reeling waves of Abreojos that much sweeter. Note: You do have the option of not returning north to San Diego. You can either stay at Punta Abreojos (if you have all your own camping equipment) or get dropped off at San Ignacio, which is on the main highway near the turnoff to Punta Abreojos, if you wish to continueyour adventure to the south.
