LORETO 'THE POINT' SURFARI - NIGHTLIFE & OTHER KICKS

The Loreto surfari is a 'back to nature' camp which by very definition means it's aimed at leaving the outside world behind for a few days, no bars, no disco's or TV, just wild and beautiful remote desert landscapes filled with pristine sandy beaches.

Make no mistake, this is a hardcore surf trip! Baja is a harsh desert, which meets a beautiful ocean oasis. It’s hot, dusty and windy during the day, and you will be grateful for the ocean which is just steps away from your tent. However you will find that the rewards far outweigh the challenges, as you experience a “surf desert soul cleansing” with other like-minded adventurers and a camaraderie which fills your days with laughter and inspiration.

The waves peel along right in front of the camp, which is a portable eco-friendly set up designed to make minimal impact on the beautiful beach.This trip is about as far removed as one can get from normal daily comforts and routines. No cell phones, no internet, no discos. The stars are the only light at night…

You wont be partying it up every night, but you will end the trip tanned, fit, and healthy, twice the surfer you were the week before, with new friends, and enriching memories that will last a lifetime.

OTHER KICKS

When you're not surfing enjoy the beach lifestyle join the surf crew and other campers in a game of frisbee, football or volleyball on the beach, check out the rock pools, go for a long walk along the beach or just stretch out in the sun with a good book or mag. You surf crew will aslo arrange trips to the nearby fishing village. You can also go hiking around the sweeping seascapes of the Pacific Coast of Southern Baja California.

After a hard days surfing you make your way back to camp where the crew have prepared another suprisingly good and healthy meal prepared with fresh local produce. If you're up for it you could take the 3 minute walk from the surf camp to the actual bathroom and enjoy a special hot shower available for our guests to use once a day.

There is also a cantina nearby which serves up good Mexican food and is a popular place to hang out, have a beer, and meet some other traveling surfers. The cantina is at the top of a small hill, a few minutes walk from the camp, and always seems to have a nice cool breeze blowing. The surfari group will eat there a few times during the week. They also have internet access (can be very slow and sometimes doesn’t work at all ;-) available for about $9/hour.

Get up early for a dawn session and watch the sun rise from the surf or sleep in and wake to the smell of freshly ground coffee and the hustle and bustle of the surf crew as they get breakfast ready. After a good breakfast of Coffee, fresh rolls, fruit and more, you're readt to face another day of surfing, sun and fun.
