All the surfing instructors at the Seignosse Surf School are qualified FFS Fédération Française de Surf professionals. This French surfing federation accreditation ensures that you are taught by qualified surf instructors using proven teaching techniques and that all the courses follow the latest safety guidelines for accredited surf schools.
The FFS is governed by the French ministry of sports and is a European Surfing Federation and International Surfing Association member. |

The instructors have years of experience as surfers & surfing instructors and are accustomed to coaching at different levels. They have all the necessary skills & experience to help newbies & beginners to progress to a level where they can become independant surfers. The instructors are multi-lingual & speak French as well as Spanish and English. |
SURFING FOR NEWBIES, BEGINNERS, INTERMEDIATES & The EXPERIEnCED
The Surf Lessons and Surf Courses have a low student to instructor ratio for safety and to ensure you get the attention you need on dry land and in the water. All participants are placed with an instructor who specializes in teaching at a particular level.
The training program is specifically developed to guarantee success in surfing and includes, video analysis, muscle specific exercises surfing different wave types and surfing in different conditions. This will help you develop confidence and improve your surfing.

NEWBIES & BEGINNERS
As a beginner you will be taught all the basics you need to know to become a self-sufficient and knowledgeable surfer.

Paddling out
Catching broken waves or white water
Catching 'green waves' to shore

INTERMEDIATE SURFERS
To be on this group you don't need to be Kelly Slater. You just need to know the basics. This course is aimed at those who have surfed before or followed a beginner course at some time. This way you don't have to go through all the basics again.
The focus of this group is on your individual surfing. Once you have learnt how to take off on a wave, you start to develop your own style and this is when timely error correction will ensure that your surfing develops quickly and properly.
Learn all the aspects of advanced surfing such as the correct movements & proper techniques.

ADVANCED & Pro SURFERS
For those of you who have the basic skills wired but need to know how to take your surfing to the next level. These professional surf coaching sessions (3 hours) can also benefit competitive surfers who are looking to stay ahead of the pack by improving contest strategies, overall fitness and surfing techniques with coaching from professional surfer Kevin Olsen.
We provide a program of regular training sessions with an emphasis on competitive surfing. You will learn contest tactics, improving fitness levels and use intensive video analysis to work on technique. This is the ideal program for any surfer wishing to push his/her freesurfing abilities or gain more experience in competitive surfing.

SURFING EQUIPMENT & SAFETY
The Surfboards and Wetsuits used by the Seignosse Surf School are specifically designed for beginners & intermediates with safety being the key factor.
Beginners will use boards specifically designed for both stability and safety. Intermediates will use boards which provide a good blend of stability, manouverability and performance.
The instructors will select a board suitable for your size, weight and ability. All the surfing equipment is checked and maintained on a regular basis to ensure you have the best material at your disposal.

MEET THE TEAM
Kevin Olsen is internationally known for his flamboyant freesurfing style and his positive out-look to surf coaching. For the past 10 years Kevin has travelled around the world surfing and coaching with the best surfers on the world tour.
From surfing competitions on the world tour to training pro surfers to instructing individual surf courses, Kevin can provide you with top quality and safe surf instruction.
Kevin is a British Surfing Association (BSA) qualified surf instructor and has a current beach lifeguard qualification.
Kevin who owns and runs the school, personally oversees the lessons when he is not teaching himself to ensure that you get the maximum attention and care. His personal surfing credo is:
