GRAN CANARIA BEACHES

Maspalomas

The “Dunas de Maspalomas” located in the south of Gran Canaria in the San Bartolome district is where you'll find the famous sand dunes of Gran Canaria. With its fine white sand streching for over 6 kms, this arguably the best beach on the island. The landscape is breathtaking with its long dunes and clear blue sea. Several large tourist complexes are located here with resorts, hotels, apartments and sports facilities especially in El Faro de Maspalomas where you can find a marina at the beach of Pasito Blanco.

Very close to the beach there is a large natural oasis with palm trees and a fresh water lake leading to the sea. This oasis offers an idyllic setting for film and still photography production teams who still frequently visit this location.

Playa del Ingles

Located close to Maspalomas, Playa del Ingles with its fine golden sand beach stretches for 2.700 meters with a clear blue sea. This is one of the preferred spots for tourists where you can find the most modern hotels and sport facilities in the island.

San Agustín

A very quite location. Ideal for visitors wanting a great holiday 'away from it all'.

Playa de Patalavaca

A beach with fine golden sand, Playa Patalavaca has excellent deep water fishing facilities.

Puerto Rico

is a modern beach resort with apartments, hotels, villas and bungalows and a sports marina with capacity for over 500 boats. Here you will also find several sports facilities including: diving, jet skiing, para sailing, etc.

Costa de Bañaderos

This is a beautiful coast with small inlets and bays. This coastline is most popular with surfers, as the many coves and bays mean it offers a wide variety of waves that work in a variety of wind and swell directions. The wave consistency along this coast is very good.

Galdar

A series of small protected beaches. Here you'll find the famous El Fronton wave, heavy and shallow only really surfed by Gran Canarias radical body boarders.

Sardina del Norte

Beautiful small beaches located next to a typical Canarian village.

La Playa de las Canteras

located in the capital, the city of 'Las Palmas'. This is a beautiful, sandy beach stretching for 2.600 meters.

Cicer

Undoubtedly the birthplace of surfing in the Canary islands. Most of the surfing community on the islands learned how to surf here and have done so since the 70's.
