As a first time visitor to Gran Canaria we will endevour to familiarise and introduce you to the best dishes our Canarian cuisine has to offer. Please eat out at the local restaurants and tapas bars, ensure you sample some of the traditional dishes. The food served on the Canary islands is diverse and very tasty, don't miss the opportunity to experience the local flavours -please ask your guide or surf instructor for tips on what and where to eat.
A FEW ABSOLUTE 'MUST-TRY' DISHES
Fresh fish cooked to your preference: grilled, steamed or fried
'Potaje Canario' a meat and vegetable stew, this is simply delicious!
'Papas Arugadas' potatoes boiled in sea salt and served with 'Mojo'.
'Mojo' these are typical Canarian chili and garlic sauces. (red and green)
'Ropa Vieja' Traditional meat and chick pea stew.
The goats cheese from any of the islands
'Paella' Not strictly Canarian however the local seafood version is 'Muy Rico'
