Essaouira - Kitesurfing & WindSurfing Taster courses
The Kiteboarding & Windsurfing teaching programmes have been developed according to the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) and VDWS (German Windsurfing Federation) standards and guidelines. The lessons provide a proven step-by-step approach to learn Kiteboarding and Windsurfing safely and quickly. This means you are guaranteed professional tuition from qualified instructors and particular attention is paid to your safety.
As a recognised IKO Center we can issue the IKO Kiteboarder card which means your progress can be tracked and your tuition can be furthered at any recognised IKO center.

Discover Kitesurfing Taster course
6 hour course, usually 3 sessions of 2 hours. A perfect introduction to kiteboarding! This program will take you through the steps of piloting a kite and body dragging in the water. You will also learn about safety and how important it is to the sport & you will be taken through the steps of equipment set up and launching and landing.
1st session:
• Introduction to kites with a look at different types and sizes
• Elementary rules of security
• Specific vocabulary for kitesurfing
• Rigging up (inflation, connecting lines,…)
• Launching and landing from the beach
• Basic flying movement.
2nd session:
• Basic flying movement.
• Security system and how to use it
• Bodydrag downwind
• Kite recovery from the water
3rd session:
• Piloting the kite from side to side into the flight window
• Relaunching the kite from water

Discover WindSurfing taster Course
6 hour course, usually 3 sessions of 2 hours. The best way to discover windsurfing! The course is designed to help you take your first steps into a new sport and hopefully fuel an addiction of a lifetime. You will receive all the theory and practice necessary to get you up and sailing on your own.
1st session:

Introducing to windsurf with a look at different type of equipment
•
Activity and equipment
•
Specific vocabulary
•
Rigging up the equipment
•
Wind rosaces and differents tacks
•
Keeping the sail off the water with the uphaul
•
Turning the board under your feet on a 360
•
Start, go for 10 meters and turn back
2nd session:
•
Upwind turning
•
Downwind turning
3rd session:
•
Go out and return to same spot
•
Upwind turning
•
Downwind turning
Please be aware that both windsurfing and kitesurfing are progressive and depending upon your ability/aptitude to learn, stamina and weather/wind conditions you may cover some but not all of topics outlined above during these taster courses.
