Improve your Kitesurfing in Essaouira
The Essaouira Kitesurfing Academy is a mobile kitesurf school with bases in Essaouira, Sidi Kaouki and Moulay Bouzerktoun. The kiteboarding clinic programme has been developed according to the IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization) standards and guidelines. The clinics provide private 1-on-1 coaching aimed at taking your kitesurfing to the next level.

Full INTERMEDIATE/Improver KITESurfing clinic Essaouira:
10 hour clinic, usually 5 sessions of 2 hours. This clinic is designed to help you achieve your next personal level and covers some of the trickier aspects of kitesurfing that require professional coaching.
Entry requirement
This course is aimed at those who have done some kitesurfing in the past but need help going upwind, you are up-n-riding but are having some difficulty with direction, you want to be able to go out and return to the same spot... or simply those who have completed a beginner course and want to take the next step. You need to be able to demonstrate the body drag and basic beachstart. Once you've successfully completed this clinic you are able to rent equipment and strike out on your own.
Goal
The aim here is to teach you how to go upwind, practise controlled riding and to show you how to go out and return to the same place.
1st session:
• Quick recap of safety rules
•
Prepare and rig a 4 line kite
•
Adapt the practice zone to the safety and the weather
•
Recap of priority rules
•
Waterstart and ride
2nd session:
•
Ride across the wind, going out and returning to the beach
• Work on pressure transfer (leaning to control direction)
3rd session:
• Ride with speed + controlling direction
•
Go and return to the same spot
4th session:
•
Controlled riding
•
First ride upwind
5th session:
•
Practice and perfect upwind riding
•
Bodydragging upwind to recover your board
Equipment rental
Once you have achieved this level of competance, you can rent equipment to practice on your own! (Please note that your intermediate or advanced clinic package includes 3 days equipment rental).
Remember that kiteboarding is progressive and depending upon your ability/aptitude to learn, stamina and weather/wind conditions you may cover some but not all of topics outlined above during this clinic.

ADVANCED KITESurfing clinic Essaouira:
The advanced clinics is a total of 6 hours usually split into three 2 hour sessions. The advanced clinics are private, 1-on-1 sessions and the aim is to help you attain your next personal level at your own pace. The IKO instructors will guide you, giving you professional advice, error correction and style tips.
Entry requirement
This course is aimed at those who already have basic kitesurfing skills. You need to be able to go upwind and be able to go out and return to the same position.
Goal
This is entirely up to you. You could cover the advanced board and kite-handling skills necessary to safely use performance gear in high winds. Improve general technique and learn to jump.
