Travel Essentials
ID/Passport
Airline Tickets & Vouchers
Money belt/pouch
ATM Card and cash*
*note:Hardly anybody in the Cape Verde Islands takes credit cards. So payment in advance is strongly advised. You will need either Euro notes or Cape Verde Escudos to pay hotels, restaurants, rent sports equipment or a car. There are cash machines at the Caixa in Espargos and the Banco Atlantico in Santa Maria but they charge £10 a time and then Visa or Mastercard will charge another 4%. These are also not too reliable and are often out of order. Cape Verde Escudos are only available in the Cape Verdes so we advise pre-payment before travel.
KITESurfing Gear
All the kitesurfing equipment you'll need can be hired on the ground in Sal the only thing we'd recommend bringing along would be:
Wet & Dry Bag
Rash Guard - Short or Longsleeve
Optional beginners and experienced Kitesurfers: Spring wetsuit (short arms and short legs) Most people will not need a wetsuit, however if you get cold easily and you want to kitesurf for long periods of time, you may want to bring a spring suit.
