KITESURFING TUITION

The Kitesurfing teaching programme has been developed according to VDWS and IKO standards and guidelines. The lessons provide a proven step-by-step approach to learn kitesurfing safely and quickly. The groups are not larger then three persons to an instructor and no more then 8 people provided with rental at any one one time. This means a larger the kitesurfing pool allowing you the opportunity to choose the optimal board or kite for your level and for the wind conditions.

Kiteboarding taster COURSE

NEWBIES & BEGINNERS KITESURFING COURSE

The course is designed to give you a taste of kitesurfing. if you enjoy it you can go on and complete the full beginner course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who want an introduction to kitesurfing and who have never tried it before. No Experience is required but you need to be able to swim 50 meters in open water.

DURATION

6 Hours

GOAL

The aim of the kitesurfing taster course is to give people a safe and fun introduction to kitesurfing. The taster course covers the following topics:
• knowlegde of equipment
• starting/landing
• kite control
• bodydragging

FULL BEGINNER KITESURFING COURSE

NEWBIES & BEGINNERS KITESURFING COURSE

The course is designed to help you take your first steps into a new sport and hopefully fuel an addiction of a lifetime. You will receive all the theory and practice necessary to give you a thorough introduction to kiteboarding. You will go from being a beginner to an intermediate Kitesurfer during this course.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who want an introduction to kitesurfing and who have never tried it before. No Experience is required but you need to be able to swim 50 meters in open water.

GOAL

The aim of the kitesurfing beginners course is to give people a safe and fun introduction to kitesurfing. At the end of the sessions you will have learned the fundamentals of kiting and depending on your ability and fitness you should be doing some basic water work. The course covers the following topics:

• starting/landing
• kite control
• bodydragging
• waterstarting /riding.

INTERMEDIATE CLINIC OR REFRESHER COURSE

ADVANCED BEGINNER TO INTERMEDIATE KITESURFING COURSE

This 6 hour course is designed to help you achieve your next personal level and covers some of the trickier aspects of kitesurfing that require professional coaching.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who have done some kitesurfing in the past but need help going upwind, you are up-n-riding but are having some difficulty with direction, you want to be able to go out and return to the same spot... or simply those who have completed a beginner course and want to take the next step. You need to be able to re-launch a kite in deep water.

DURATION

6 Hours

GOAL

The aim here is to teach you how to go upwind, practise controlled riding and to show you how to go out and return to the same place.

ADVANCED KITESURFING CLINIC

After you are proficient in your basic skills, it's time to get some hang time!

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who already have basic kitesurfing skills and who want to progress to their next personal level. You need to be able to go upwind and be able to go out and return to the same position.

GOAL

You will learning the advanced board and kite-handling skills necessary to safely use performance gear in high winds. You will also improve technique and learn jumps.

REFRESHER/SUPERVISION KITESURFING CLINIC

Proficient kiteboarder but this is your first time in Cabo Verde? This is for you.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

This course is aimed at those who already have good kitesurfing skills and who want some supervision, tips and tricks on kitesurfing in Cape Verde.

GOAL

To give you a supervised introduction to the local kitesurfing spots and equipment used for kiteboarding in Sal.

PRICE

£ 65 for 4 Hrs

Note: we also offer this package with 1 week Kiteboarding equipment rental thrown in, i.e. One week rental of all kiting equipment + 4 hours supervision and introduction to the spots with tips and tricks. Price: £ 195

PRIVATE KITESURFING LESSONS - INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED

You and your kitesurfing instructor will determine the lesson-content based on your current abilities and your personal kitesurfing goals. Private kitesurfing sessions can be booked per hour or per 2 hours, during which an expert coach will teach you how to have more fun out on the water.

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

These lessons are aimed at those who already have basic kitesurfing skills and who want to progress to the next level.

DURATION

1 or 2 Hours

KEY SKILLS

As mentioned above this depends on your current abilities and your personal sailing goals. However 1 on 1 lessons can cover anything and everything from relaunching the kite to Jumping, wave riding and handle passes.

GOAL

To help you to adjust to different situations and correct your mistakes. To help you attain your personal kitesurfing goals and ultimately to have more fun out on the water.

These kitesurfing accreditations ensure that you are taught by qualified instructors using proven teaching techniques & that all the courses follow the latest safety guidelines for accredited schools.

KITESURFING INSTRUCTORS

The Kitesurfing academy owner is a VDWS instructor and he has trained all the instructors here. The instructors have years of experience as Kitesurfers & kitesurf instructors and are accustomed to coaching at different levels. They have all the necessary skills & experience to help newbies & beginners to progress to a level where they can become independant Kitesurfers. The instructors are multi-lingual & speak English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese.

KITESURFING SAFETY

Your safety is our prime concern, the Cape Verde Kitesurf Academy offer a low student-to-teacher ratio and the have a rescue vehicle (Zodiac) at their disposal at all times. The center has the latest safety systems as well as helmets and life vests.
