The island of SAL is less then a 6 hour flight from Europe and offers unbelievable waves and a consistent cross-offshore winds. The trades blow the whole year around from the North/East. BEST SEASON
For Beginners: Kitesurfing can be learnt any time of the year. However, one of the best times to learn is in the summer months between May to September, this is when the water is flat, the wind light, and the shore break manageable.
For more intermediate & advanced Kitesurfers: the winter months from November to April are best, as the wind is stronger. Also, as can be seen on the wind charts, there are a high number of days per month with strong wind. For those interested in wave riding, this is also a good time of the year to visit the islands.
