AT A GLANCE

Temperature: Kitesurfing/Windsurfing season (October-May) 20-27°C. Can be little colder at night. Summers are hot 30-40°C Rain clouds are rare and rain is scarce.

Water temperature: Winter 23°C, summer 26°C.

Wind direction: North, North East and Easterly tradewinds in winter. Windspeeds vary from 14-28 knots with an average wind speed in winter of around 20 knots.

BEST SEASON

For Beginners: Kitesurfing can be learnt any time of the year. However, one of the best times to learn is in the summer months between May and Aug, as the water is flat, the wind light, and the shore break manageable.

For more intermediate & advanced Kitesurfers: the winter months from December to March are best, as the wind is stronger. Additionally, as can be seen on the charts, there are a high number of days per month with stronger winds. For those interested in riding waves, this is also a good time of the year.
