KITEBOARDING IN TENERIFE
Being an island, there are only two ways to get to Tenerife. Most people prefer to fly into one of the two airports, as this is the quickest and most convenient option. Tenerife is well connected to the rest of the world with regular flights from Madrid and other cities in Europe. The other choice is to take a ferry. The services are good and at least one boat per week arrives at Tenerife from Cadiz on the mainland and even more frequently from La Palma.

Getting to tenerife By car
Tenerife is an island but you can arrive by car. Ferries frequently run from Cadiz on the Spanish mainland as well as from the other Canary Islands. You can drive your car right on to the boat. You can also rent a car on the island at the airport, but it’s advisable to book your car hire online ahead of time to avoid disappointment and to save money on the rental rate.

GETTING TO Tenerife BY AIR - FLIGHTS
There are two airports on the island of Tenerife, one in the north of the island (Tenerife Norte, TFN, also known as "Aeropuerto de Los Rodeos") and the other in the south of the island (Tenerife Sur, TFS, also known as Aeropuerto Reina Sofía). Both airports are at about 2.5 hours flying time from Madrid, and about 3 hours from Barcelona.
All international flights and some domestic flights go to the TFS airport. On the other hand, most domestic flights go to the TFN airport. Most people travelling on scheduled flights will have to fly via Madrid or Barcelona and then onto the northern airport.
Please book your flights early!. Scheduled flights as well as charter flights from some european countries can be heavily booked at certain times of the year.
N.B. The Tenerife kitesurfing Centre is situated less than 10 minutes drive from Reina Sophia airport - Tenerife South. So please book your flight to this airport if possible.

GREENSEAT - CARBON NEUTRAL* FLIGHTS
Zoco supports the efforts made by GreenSeat, and ask you to do the same. We realize that surfers, windsurfers and kitesurfers all do far more travelling by air than your average person. The surf trip is an integral part of the boardriding lifestyle and this is why we encourage you to compensate for the emissions related to your flight by making yours a GreenSeat.
*Carbon neutral means that, for each flight, enough trees are planted to ensure that the net effect on the atmosphere is zero, or as close to it as possible.
