Fuerteventura (Fuerte) is the second largest of all the Canary Islands and is famous for its enormous sand dunes and its long sandy beaches. Some of the most impressive beaches in the whole of Europe can be found here and with over one hundred and fifty to choose from you should find just what you're looking for. Fuerteventura is a big island, the North and South are very different locations and Zoco Boardriding Adventures has teamed up with Fuerteventura's leading kitesurfing centres in the North and South of the island to bring you a wider choice of kitesurfing holidays, more flexibility and better facilities. FUERTEVENTURA NORTH
Kitesurfing in the north of Fuerteventura takes place near the resort of Corralejo. The wind is predominantly cross-shore and the kiteboarding beach is part of a 6-7 km stretch of fine white sand, where about 3 km has been reserved for kitesurfing. The best months for kitesurfing here are March to November. This is when the sea tends to be flat and the wind consistent.

Most of the southern region of the island is a protected area meaning that tourism has not destroyed the very beauty that attracts visitors in the first place. The south coast is a long stretch of outstanding white beaches known as Playa de Sotavento de Jandia. Miles upon miles of sandy paradise. Sotavento lies directly in a wind excelleration zone and in summer the winds can reach speeds of up to 9 Bft.(45 knots), great news for kiteboarders.
