In the early 70's the Aguerre-brothers designed and started selling "REEF Sandals". The original idea behind the now famous reef girl pose (always photographed from behind) is to show the visual link between the 'V' shaped sandals & a thong bikini. Simple but effective.

Reef Spain elected Palma de Mallorca beach to celebrate its so famous Miss Reef Contest.14 girls from 6 different nations took part and after 3 intense rounds, the winners were Agustina Schilardi, Laura Perez and Maria-Eugenia Scalise.
