What is a Kook?
WordNet definition: Meaning #1: someone regarded as eccentric or crazy and standing out from a group.
Synonyms: odd fellow, odd fish, queer bird, queer duck, odd man out
Wikipedia definition: Kook (pronounced with a long "oo") may refer to
• Kook, in skateboarding, a beginner skateboarder
• Kook, in surfing, an unskilled surfer
• A pejorative term for someone; a crank.
Zoco Crew's definitiion: Meaning #1: A newbie at any boardsport who endangers other boardriders by taking on conditions way above their level of ability. Kooks also have no respect for priority rules or just common decency. Often seen with the wrong equipment for their skill level, kooks will have many 'near death experiences'.
Meaning #2: A poser, fashion victim or someone who stands out from the crowd by acting like a complete ass. (We actually prefer this kind of kook).

Where the hell did this wetsuit come from? It's the manufacturer that should be punished! As for the loud bodyboard, the pose & the seriously stupid cap... Arnoud really should be locked up for his own safety.

Declan Cowen from Ierland is 15 years old.
What's going on here, 'Boy does battle with wetsuit?' Declan looks like he's in a straight jacket and what's up with the pained expression and pansy handed groin grope? Wow, there is just so much to take in here.

This one goes to the unknown surfer dropping in at the Harbour left in Lanzarote.
You know who you are.
This wave is typically fast, hollow and very shallow. Dropping in here is very un cool. There were very few surfers out and plenty of regular sets, this guy is just a danger to himself and everyone else in the lineup.
